The Department of Social Welfare and Development, National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR), in partnership with Manila Chinatown Charity Foundation, Incorporated (MCCFI) conducted a medical mission for the beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in Sitio Damayan, Barangay 105, Tondo, Manila last July 1, 2012.

Some 46 Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries were able to avail of the medical consultations and check-up provided by medical professionals who are volunteers of MCCFI.

DSWD-NCR Regional Director, Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan said that this partnership is part of DSWD’s thrust to build partnership with government and non-government organizations to complement its efforts to deliver effective social services to the marginalized sector of the society.

“The medical mission held last July 2 was just the first of the 23 missions that will be held in Sitio Damayan and targets the 1,930 beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in the barangay,” Bonoan added.

Meanwhile, another five household beneficiaries of the program from Barangay Sto. Niño, Marikina City received a recipe guide book from National Nutrition Council (NNC) to guide them in preparing nutritious and healthy foods for their children.
