Perlita Dades, 21 years old, from Brgy. 171 Pasay City came in her best dress, with high hopes that she will be assisted in getting a job after her attendance to the employment facilitation assembly organized recently by the Department of Social Welfare and Development-National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) at Kalayaan Covered Court, Brgy. 201, Pasay City.

Perlita is one of the 100 employable members of Pantawid Pamilya household beneficiaries who proceeded to the covered court to attend the activity which aimed to prepare and assist them in finding employment.

“This is one of the strategies that the Department is initiating in partnership with other government agencies and private organizations to help the beneficiaries who will graduate from the five-year implementation of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program,” Assistant Regional Director Jacel J. Paguio said.

During this assembly, participants were taught how to prepare a Bio-Data or Resume and were guided how to present themselves during job interviews.

Employers such as PhilExport, Stream Global Services, Ayala Foundation and David Mendoza Consunji, Inc (DMCI) were also invited during the assembly to conduct actual interview with applicants.

“I am happy that DSWD initiated this activity which is truly helpful especially to my fellow beneficiaries who wanted to get a job to help our family,” Perlita said in Tagalog.

Perlita’s family is one of the 1,239 families from Pasay who will exit from the program on December 2013.

“In Metro Manila, a total of 11,978 families will graduate from the five-year implementation of the program and we would like to ensure that these families reach the self-sufficient level through the convergence efforts of DSWD, other government agencies, non-government organizations and civil society organizations,” Paguio added.
