The Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) unveiled its commitments to the Department’s Strategic Goals.

DSWD Assistant Secretary and Coach Monitor for Luzon Cluster Teodulo R. Romo and DSWD-NCR Regional Director Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan led the unveiling of the 2013 strategic goals scoreboard of the Field Office, which also marked the opening of the DSWD-NCR’s 35th Founding Anniversary.

Assec Romo said that DSWD has evolved in the past 62 years of its existence in the country and 35 years for NCR, and will continue to provide quality service to the vulnerable sector of society.

Citing the importance of everyone’s contribution in the achievement of the Department’s strategic goals, he added that performance is no longer measured based on the number of activities and people served but on the number of poor people we have brought to self-sufficiency level.

“They are the reason for all our hard work and endeavors,” said Assec Romo.

For this year, the DSWD-NCR commits to (1) improve the well-being of some P13,475 set 1 to set 3 household beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and to elevate some 418 households from subsistence to self-sufficiency level, (2) expand the number of NHTS-PR identified poor households covered by at least two (2) Social Welfare and Development programs from 8,616 to 297,982 and increase the number of cities having fully functional LSWDO to at least one (1) in accordance with the indicative measures set by the DSWD Standards Bureau.###
