The Department of Social Welfare and Development-National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) had a meeting with the volunteers on Thursday evening at Camp Aguinaldo and synchronized efforts for their continuing support in intensifying the government’s response to survivors of Typhoon Yolanda.

In the meeting, DSWD-NCR Regional Director Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan announced that processing of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) arriving in Metro Manila will continue at the Villamor Airbase where a comprehensive response to the needs of the IDPs is ready, as a result of the convergence of the manpower and resources of the government, non-government organizations, volunteers and private individuals.

Bonoan thanked the volunteers who proceeded to Camp Aguinaldo and rendered their voluntary services and extended their resources to the IDPs.

“We appreciate the quick response of our partner national agencies, local government units and more importantly, the volunteers and donors who showed our ‘kababayans’ that through our collective efforts and resources, we can provide them our humble care,” Bonoan said.
