The Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) Director Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan inducted recently the newly-elected officers of the National Council of Social Development Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. (NCSD).

Bonoan swore into office (from left) Sandra Camesa of SPECS Foundation, Rosalinda Perez of Open Heart Foundation, Lilia Orioste of Unang Lingap Kapwa, Inc., Arlyne Fernandez of Virlanie Foundation, Susana Biteng of Kaibigan Foundation, Anabella Balingit of Liwawa Ed Asinan Foundation, Sr. Eva Fidela Maamo of Foundation of Our Lady of Peace Mission, Lynn Rivera of ERDA Foundation, and Zenaida Rosales of Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Sexual abuse.

According to Director Bonoan, the NCSD helps to address varied issues confronting the deprived sectors of our society in partnership with the Local Government Units (LGUs), other Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and People’s Organization (POs).

It continues to be a network of social service and social development agencies and organizations, demonstrating the capacity to undertake capability building, advocacy and social mobilization activities towards influencing change in national policies and development programs.

Moreover, the organization promotes, conducts and supports pro-active and sustained advocacy on key social welfare and development issues, legislation and implementation of laws and regulations affecting children and their families.
