The Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region celebrates its 36th founding anniversary which carries the theme, “Pasasalamat sa Sama-samang Pagkilos tungo sa Kaunlaran.” A thanksgiving mass was officiated by Fr. Jose Litigion, OFM after the flag ceremony to officially begin the week-long celebration. He emphasized that the essence of celebrating an anniversary is thanksgiving for being able to serve others.
In a related development, Regional Director Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan led the soft opening of the Pantawid Pamilya building. In her message, Director Bonoan said “patuloy ang pasasalamat natin sa Diyos at unti-unti nang naitatayo ang Pantawid Pamilya building. Ito ay maghahatid ng kaginhawaan di lamang sa mga empleyado kundi lalo na sa mga benepisyaryo ng Pantawid Pamilya na dumudulog sa ating tanggapan. We were placed here by the Lord to do our ministry of serving the people,” she added.
Some of the activities to be conducted during the anniversary celebration are; the State of DSWD FO-NCR Address, where our Regional Director will report on the updates on different programs and services to the stakeholders and partners. Also, booths for beneficiaries of SEA-K are also set-up, containing the successful enterprises under the program. ###
