In preparation for the celebration of the National Family Week on the last week of September, the Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) currently leads the validation of nominees of the NCR’s Search for Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya 2015.
For this year, all the 17 LGUs in Metro Manila have submitted their nominees who shall represent the Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries in their respective cities/municipality to compete in the regional Search.
DSWD-NCR Regional Director Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan said that this Search aims to recognize the exemplary efforts of the beneficiaries in religiously complying to the conditionalities of the program, actively participating to various community activities and demonstrate the traits of a model family who maintains strong and harmonious bonds within their family.
Among the criteria for the Search are: a family with 100% compliance in all conditionalities – 25 %; a family that practices and promotes healthy living – 20%; a family that practices and promotes healthy living – 20%; a family who demonstrates love and respect for each other and for their community – 20%; and a family who manages and utilizes grants properly – 15%.
The regional winner will represent the NCR in the National Search for 2016 since the contest started in Metro Manila on 2010 as formulated by its Regional Inter-Agency Committee of the Filipino Families (RIAC-FF) chaired by DSWD-NCR.
Currently, RIAC-FF already validated the nominees from the cities of Pasay, Taguig, Makati, Las Piñas, Parañaque, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Malabon, Valenzuela, QC, Manila and Marikina.
Further, the nominees from Pasig, San Juan and Mandaluyong will be visited on August 11, 2015 while nominees from Pateros and Manila will be validated on August 14, 2015.
RIAC-FF conducts validation in order to interview the nominees, barangay officials, health center officers and school teacher/ principals to ensure that the winning nominee shall genuinely possess the characteristics of being a “Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya” of Metro Manila.
Awarding of the sole winner is tentatively set on September 25, 2015.###
