Elsie Gaches Village celebrated 56 years of providing care and rehabilitation to abandoned and neglected children with special needs with the theme, “May pag-asa sa gitna ng pandemya” which was held on February 27, 2020 via webinar.
This year’s celebration was different from the previous years due to the COVID-19 pandemic; the activity online was organized by the Psychological Service Department wherein they showed videos of EGV staff and residents who untiringly showed and give service despite the pandemic.
Partners and Donors were also given the certificate of recognition through the virtual ceremony. The recognition aims to give acknowledgement of the donors and partners for the continuous support and guidance they are providing to the institution.
Tasco Inc, Manav Siwa Sansthan, DSWD-NCR Human Resource Planning and Performance Management Section, Muntinlupa Public Cemetery, Lim De Mesa, East Avenue Medical Center, Marikina Hospital, Ospital ng Muntinlupa, Jollibee Group Foundation, City Health Office of Muntinlupa, Medical Center Paranaque, Barangay Satellite Office of Ayala-Alabang were given the recognition.
Despite the crisis that the world is facing, the Elsie Gaches Village still conducted the anniversary celebration in order to provide the residents, staff and the partners and donors the recognition they deserve.
“Sa gitna ng pandemya, maraming insiyatibo ang isinagawa sa Center. Ang Elsie Gaches Village ay naglatag ng mga progresibong preventive health protocols na isinagawa sa center upang maibsan ang pagkalat ng virus at mapanatili ang kaayusan sa loob ng center. Hindi man naging madali ang mga ganitong pagkakaroon ng patakaran upang ipaunawa sa mga residente ng center, patuloy pa rin ang pagbibigay-impormasyon at pagbibigay ng matinding pagkalinga sa mga residente. Elsie Gaches Village is the only government residential care facility for mentally challenged persons. It provides care and rehabilitation to abandoned, neglected children with special needs such as cerebral palsy, epilepsy, visual and hearing impairment, mental retardation, autism and other related conditions. ###
