Valenzuela City – The team of DSWD-NCR Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) led by Regional Director Vicente Gregorio B. Tomas distributed Livelihood Assistance Grants (LAG) to around 500 families in Valenzuela City amounting to P7.5Million. The program beneficiaries were identified and diligently assessed by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and DSWD NCR SLP.

The team from CSWDO of Valenzuela City led by Ms. Dorothy Evangelista also assisted during the activity and provided the necessary logistics needed as well as the adherence with the health and safety protocols of the government.

Malinta Elementary School in Barangay Malinta, Valenzuela City served as the venue of the activity since it has large facilities that can accommodate a large crowd for different types of activities. Volunteers such as the Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Police from Malinta BLGU, teachers of Malinta Elementary School, and officers from PNP Valenzuela gathered together to assist the staff from DSWD in maintaining an efficient and safe conduct of the payout.

LAG is a government assistance granted to eligible families in the informal sector for the recovery and/or rehabilitation of their livelihoods which were affected by the implementation of the community quarantine. A total of 394 families received the same livelihood assistance grants last year in Valenzuela City.

Hand Sanitation, physical distancing, and plastic barriers where provided to ensure the safety of the program participants and DSWD Staff in red vest.
