The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office NCR celebrates its 71st founding anniversary with the theme “Napapanahon na Pagtugon sa Suliranin ng Taong 2022” on March 7, 2021 held at Swiss-bellhotel Blulane, Sta. Cruz Manila.

Arranged with colorful vinta and hand-crafted fan made of native palm leaves. The theme of the activity symbolizes the famous “Abaniko” or “Pamaypay” which shows the resourcefulness and modesty while the “Vinta” represents resilience and strength of which these traits are evident to the Filipinos.

The goal of this year’s anniversary is to implement immediate action and assistance on different life scenarios in the present situation, as the so-called “new normal” was implemented.

The activity was graced by the DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito D. Bautista; Usec. Danilo G. Pamonag; Dir. Ferdinand Budeng; Regional Director Vicente Gregorio B. Tomas; Asst. Regional Director for Operations Ms. Lea Mae Baloro-Swindler; and OIC – Asst. Regional Director for Administration, Ms. Manuela M. Loza.

Moreover, the activity focused on recognizing the welfare of the DSWD clients which complement the staff performance of the department as they fulfill their duties and responsibilities towards success. Different recognitions were given to the staff who dedicated their lives serving the country as government employees.

“Naniniwala ako na ang inyong kabanata ay hindi tuluyang matutuldukan at magtatapos dito sapagkat kayo ang aming magiging katuwang sa pagpapalawig ng tamang impormasyon tungkol sa mga gawain ng DSWD.” said Secretary Bautista.

The Secretary also advised all the present staff to stay on track as they continue to provide different services in line with the mandate of the department in giving social services to the public.

“Let us keep the momentum going as we ensure that our breakthrough results are present.” He added.

Meanwhile, DSWD-NCR Regional Director Vicente Gregorio B. Tomas

acknowledged the services rendered by the former employees and staff of the department.

Without them, we will not be inspired. The challenges are always there for us to continue our mission.” Showing his appreciation, Director Tomas assured the staff that the continued effort in providing assistance will be acknowledged. “We will not stop, we improve. We will not stop to look at the welfare of our colleagues, our lingkod bayan. ” Said Dir. Tomas.

This annual event is the celebration of the accomplishments and success of the Department which moreover recognizes the people behind its achievements.   ###
