The DSWD Field Office NCR joined the Armed Forces of the Philippines for its annual musical festival along with an information caravan. Different government agencies engaged in the said event while disseminating useful information about the various programs and services of the administration. Staff from Field Office NCR Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU) and Adoption Resource and Referral Section (ARSS) administered a brief orientation to the event participants at the same time the distribution of flyers and information materials.

     The Armed Forces of the Philippines organized its annual Musikalayaan with the theme “Pag-suong sa Hamon ng Panibagong Bukas” on Rizal Park Open Auditorium in Manila last June 10. Participated by various bands from the Headquarters Service Group (HHSG) such as Philippine Air Force (PAF), 2nd Infantry Division (2ID) Jungle Fighter Band, Philippine Navy (PN) Seabees Band, Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) Combo, Philippine National Police (PNP) Band, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Band, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Band, and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Band conveyed their patriotism and love for the country through songs and musical performances along with the celebration of the 124th Independence of the nation.

     Commander of the AFP Media and Civil Affairs Group (MCAG) Maj. Cenon Pancito III discussed this year’s theme was to recognize the perpetual perseverance of the men and women in uniform protecting the nation amidst crisis including the COVID-19 pandemic.

   “The participation of the troops, other uniformed agencies, artists, musicians and bands during the celebration is a simple way of remembering the hard-fought achievement of independence for the beloved country”, Pancito said.

     The Department of Social Welfare and Development together with its partners aims to provide firsthand information concerning the programs and services of the department by joining and conducting information caravan which is beneficial to the vulnerable and marginalize sector of the country.
