In preparation for the upcoming 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), through its Vulnerable Sector Office (VSO), conducted a Voter Education Activity at the National Vocational Rehabilitation Center (NVRC) on October 24, 2025.

The activity aimed to inform and empower members of the vulnerable sectors to exercise their right to vote. During the session, the VSO discussed the privileges and programs for Indigenous Peoples, Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), Senior Citizens, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). The discussion also emphasized the importance of early registration, outlined the registration requirements, and presented the establishment of additional polling places and voting centers designated for the vulnerable sectors.

The VSO likewise introduced the Priority Polling Places (PPP) and Satellite Priority Polling Places (S-PPP), which are situated on the ground floor of schools or government buildings to ensure accessibility for Senior Citizens and Persons with Disabilities. These polling places do not contain ballot boxes; instead, the completed ballots are transported by support staff to the nearest polling place equipped with a ballot box.

Present during the activity were VSO Head Atty. Monalisa C. Mamukid, Director IV; NVRC Head Maria Liza F. Mahinay; together with 37 staff members and 47 trainees.

The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections are scheduled to be held on November 2, 2026.
