On November 3, 2025, Nayon ng Kabataan (NK) officially began the month-long celebration for the 33rd National Children’s Month (NCM), uniting stakeholders to champion the safety of Filipino children in both digital and physical spaces. Anchored on the theme: “Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM) WAKASAN, KALIGTASAN AT KARAPATAN NG BATA, IPAGLABAN!”
The theme highlights a unified call to end all forms of online and offline abuse while promoting a safer, more empowering environment for children. In her message during the kick-off event, Ms. Helen M. Pereyra, Social Welfare Officer V and Center Head of Nayon ng Kabataan, stressed the power of collective responsibility in protecting children’s rights.
“Hindi lang po trabaho ng isa ang pagprotekta sa karapatan ng kabataan, bagkus, trabaho at responsibilidad ito ng bawat isa, bawat magulang, bawat komunidad na protektahan ang mga bata at mabigyan ng ligtas na pamumuhay,” Center Head Pereyra said.
The NCM celebration aims to deepen public awareness of the growing threats of OSAEC and CSAEM, strengthen digital literacy among children and caregivers, and reinforce family-based values that help prevent exploitation. Throughout the month, NK and partner agencies will hold forums, interactive games, and advocacy campaigns designed to educate and engage both children and adults. These activities highlight the message that child protection begins with awareness, empathy, and action at every level of society.
As the celebration continues, Nayon ng Kabataan stands firm in its mission to nurture children’s potential in a safe, caring environment.
