The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office NCR (DSWD FO NCR),
through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), successfully conducted the activity on June 24, 2026 (Wednesday) at Serbisyo Park, Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City.
A total of 46 SLP beneficiaries from various Quezon City Urban Farmers SLP Associations (SLPA) participated in the activity. The training aimed to strengthen their knowledge and skills in basic bookkeeping and edible landscaping, promoting food security, environmental sustainability, and livelihood development.
Participants gained practical insights on managing financial records and maximizing available spaces for edible gardening skills that can contribute to the growth and sustainability of their livelihood.
According to Mr. Adrian Alberto, Treasurer of Base 4 Urban Farmers SLPA, the training provided valuable
knowledge that can help them improve and expand their existing livelihood activities.

The activity was made possible through partnership with the JCI Quezon City Capitol, Department of Agriculture โ Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI), Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI), and the Quezon City Government. Resource persons from these partner agencies shared their expertise and practical experiences, empowering beneficiaries to further enhance their urban farming initiatives and strengthen their livelihood opportunities.
Through these collaborative and continuous capacity-building efforts, the SLP remains committed to equipping beneficiaries with the skills and knowledge needed to cultivate sustainable sources of income, improve their quality of life, and achieve greater self-reliance.
