On July 6, 25 residents of the Marillac Hills National Training School for Girls (MH-NSTG) completed basic life support (BLS) and first aid training. Initiated by the center’s Medical Service Team, the session was conducted by fire officers from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Muntinlupa City to equip the residents with essential emergency response skills.
The training covered crucial life-saving topics, including emergency scene assessment, bleeding control, wound care, fracture management, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with Automated External Defibrillator (AED) usage. Following the lecture, residents participated in hands-on demonstrations, practicing CPR, choking management, recovery positioning, and proper bandaging techniques under BFP supervision.
Beyond building practical first aid skills, the activity boosted the participants’ confidence, composure, and readiness to handle life-threatening situations. Marillac Hills remains dedicated to providing holistic programs that empower its residents with meaningful life skills for their healing, recovery, and long-term resilience.
