The Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR), through its Center and Residential Care Facilities (CRCFs), joins the nationwide celebration of Nutrition Month this July 2026. This year’s theme, “Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan,” highlights the importance of protecting the environment while ensuring access to safe and nutritious food for everyone.
To celebrate the occasion, the CRCFs organized various activities for both their staff and residents. These included an opening parade, a Nutri-Quiz Bee, a Nutri-Jingle Competition, a Dance Showdown, and a Poster-Making Competition. The activities encouraged participants to learn more about healthy eating while showcasing their creativity, talents, and teamwork.
The celebration also reminded everyone of the crucial role that proper nutrition and a healthy environment play in achieving a better quality of life. Through these fun and educational activities, participants gained a greater appreciation for healthy living and environmental responsibility.
The DSWD continues to work closely with the National Nutrition Council (NNC) and local health partners in promoting programs that support the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the goal of ending hunger. Through these efforts, the agency remains committed to advancing proper nutrition and food security as essential rights of every Filipino.
