A story of resilience and perseverance, the life of Jennifer Salatambos manifests the true meaning of unbreakable commitment to pursue her dreams despite being different from others.

Born with a unique condition, Jennifer was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was a child—a condition that makes walking difficult and limits her ability to lift heavy objects with her right hand. Raised in a vulnerable family and living as a person with disability (PWD), her journey toward finishing her studies, entering government service, and fulfilling her dreams was far from easy. Yet, she never allowed her condition to define her limits.

From the Nayon ng Kabataan to the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, Jen is widely known as a dependable team player—someone who uplifts colleagues with words of encouragement, values collaboration, and consistently contributes to achieving organizational targets. Many describe her as a “light” within the office, a reputation reflected in the recognitions she has received: Employee with the highest performance rating in 2023, Best Administrative Staff in 2024 at the Nayon ng Kabataan, and multiple Regional Lakas Awards for virtues such as patience and generosity.

Driven by her desire to make a difference, her dedication to her craft is evident through the awards and recognition she received.

Her burning passion did not diminish; her admiration for continuous learning and professional growth carries on. Jennifer is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Administration at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), viewing education as a vital step in strengthening her capacity to serve.

Jennifer shares that she is deeply honored to be part of the DSWD NCR. For her, the agency is a place where PWDs are treated with dignity and equality—where inclusivity and empowerment are not just principles, but lived realities. As a DSWD employee, she finds her greatest fulfillment in seeing lives transformed through the programs she helps deliver.

Kahit tayo ay may pagkakaiba, ang bawat isa sa atin ay mayroong pantay-pantay na karapatan. Huwag kang susuko at patuloy tayong manalig sa Panginoon. Let’s continue to strive to make a difference by uplifting one another. Let’s create a more inclusive community where everyone is valued, heard and empowered.  – Jennifer Salatambos
