In celebration of Nutrition Month, Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries, particularly children aged 0–5 years and pregnant women from District 6, Sta. Ana, Manila, participated in a comprehensive health and nutrition activity held at the Arsenio H. Lacson Health Center on July 27, 2026.
The staff from 4Ps DSWD NCR teamed up with representatives from Arsenio H. Lacson Health Center, headed by Dra. Sol Ulanday, to provide a wide range of essential healthcare services promoting the well-being of mothers, young children, and families in the community.
During the activity, beneficiaries underwent medical check-ups, PhilHealth record updating, and family planning counseling to promote responsible parenthood and ensure continued access to quality healthcare services. Health professionals also conducted informative discussions on proper nutrition for children, highlighting the importance of balanced meals, exclusive breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and healthy eating habits during the critical stages of child development.
Also, the health center offered free dental check-ups to encourage good oral health among beneficiaries and conducted a Cervical Cancer Awareness session, educating women on the importance of early detection, regular screening, and preventive measures in reducing the risk of cervical cancer.
Apart from this, free medicines and vitamins were distributed among the participants. This is to help improve the nutritional and overall health condition of participating children and pregnant women.
The activity reflects the strong partnership between the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and the Local Government Units (LGUs) through Health Facilities in promoting preventive healthcare, nutrition, disease prevention, and accessible medical services for the community.
