Infographics: 1st DRMD Magalogue Launching through DSWD NCR Virtual Information Caravan
With the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 Pandemic, particularly in terms of communication and bringing the programs and services to the awareness of the public, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office National Capital Region (DSWD FO NCR)-Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD) is continuously and actively making strategies to meet the gaps. Pertinent to this, the DRMD successfully launched its 1st DRMD Magalogue through DSWD NCR Virtual Information Caravan on March 3 and 10, 2022.

The DSWD NCR Virtual Information Caravan was hosted by Ms. Nenie D. Savella and Mx. Rowel D. Ballao. With guests program experts from different fields, they discussed the different advocacies, programs, and services of DRMD written on its Magalogue—a two-in-one book that showcases DRMD’s different programs and services, operations, and initiatives from 2020 to 2021 featuring two major activities of the country for the month of March: Fire Prevention Month and Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill.
For the event, program experts from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Office of Civil Defense, and DSWD FO NCR – Disaster Response Management Division were invited.
FIRE PREVENTION MONTH
Manila Deputy District Fire Director, Leo A Andiso, reminds everyone to be proactive in acquiring knowledge and strategies about making oneself and family safe from fire incidents. Also, he encourages everyone to be vigilant and to refrain from using sub-standard electrical wires as it is the most common cause of the fire.

NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL (NSED)
Ms. Karla Minorka M. Aldea, Information Officer II, from the Office of Civil Defense, discussed the importance of the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), which is held every quarter of the year to test the efficiency and usefulness of Local Government Units, Offices, and others’ preparedness, response, and recovery plans for an earthquake.

The subject matters were explained thoroughly via digital platforms such as Facebook Live and Google Meet. This initiative reached around 3,324 people and was participated by around 80 representatives from different Local Government Units of the National Capital Region, DSWD-national and regional office, other partners, and stakeholders.
LAUNCHING OF THE 1ST DRMD MAGALOGUE
The first of its kind, the DRMD Magalogue which came from the combination of the words, “magazine” and “catalogue” is a two-natured instrument featuring DRMD’s various programs and services offered to the public and highlighting DRMD’s operations spanning the years 2020 to 2021 in a magazine-like style presentation.
The said knowledge product is launched through DSWD FO NCR Virtual Information Caravan which is co-hosted and narrated by Mr. John Jasper O. Forbes and Ms. Jumelle Pearl M. Mariano of Disaster Response Management Division.

DSWD-NCR Regional Director, Mr. Vicente Gregorio B. Tomas, shared his opening message to the participants. Grateful and in awe of the support from different partners, RD Vic encouraged the continuous participation of everyone in promoting DSWD NCR advocacies particularly in providing Serbisyong May Malasakit.
