The Haven for Women is conducting a summer sports fest entitled Beat the Heat 2014. According to Mr. Froilan D. Maglaya (standing, 2nd from right), Social Welfare Officer IV and acting center head, the objective of the event was for it to be a continuing advocacy that promotes women’s rights and empowerment.
The center staff was divided into three (3) teams that would compete in various activities which include physical games such as Patintero, Agawan Buko, Amazing Race; developmental games for kids, and sporting events such as volleyball and badminton.
The competition runs from May 12 to 16, 2014, and the awarding ceremonies will be on May 19, 2014 at Haven for Women gymnasium. ###
