The Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) supported the World Bank officials who visited Barangay Sta. Ana, Taguig City recently. The visit was part of the World Bank mission which aims to assess the impact of the Pantawid Pamilya program in the area.
DSWD-NCR Regional Director Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan first oriented the World Bank officials on the status of implementation of the Pantawid Pamilya program in Taguig City and this gave them an overview on how the program works in the said locality.

World Bank officials were pleased to learn that Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries whom they interviewed are saving a part of the proceeds from the small-scale business they put-up thru the capital resource provided to them under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the Department.
Among the beneficiaries who participated in the group discussion is Ms. Hilda Lilang, 37 years old and a mother or four (4) children. She shared that she is using a piggy bank which was a gift from her son in saving small amount of the proceeds from her small business of frozen meat which she put up from the SEA-K capital seed fund.
Since January this year, DSWD-NCR has provided capital assistance to 84 SEA-K associations in Metro Manila composed of 1,560 Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries in the amount of P11,346,200.00. ###
