The struggle for success of Hilda Sugaan
Hilda is a typical girl with a lot of dreams for herself and for her family. She grew up with a very loving and caring family with enough food in the table and parents who worked hard to provide for her and her siblings.
Hilda started working at an early age in exchange for free education; little did she know that this move will be the start of her dilemma and would lead her to danger.
Hilda was sexually abused by the people she trusted. Her employer, which she originally thought would help her achieve her goals and aspirations, became her perpetrator. These people made her believe that they will provide her financial help in exchange of servicing for them as a house helper.
The harassment started when her female employer went out of town for a seminar. It was when her nightmare started, as her male employer touched her and threatened the safety of her family to take advantage of her. Hilda wanted to keep the abuse to herself, but just like a bad dream, it kept on haunting her so she decided to tell one of her professors and asked for advice on what to do.
Seeking for recovery from the harassment and abuse, Hilda found herself in Marillac Hills. Marillac served as a second home to her and helped her get through the difficult challenges she faced during the recovery process. The one-on-one counseling sessions with the social worker which helped her understand the processes and steps of healing and recovery as well as the activities provided for her in the Center gave her the therapy that she needed. When she can finally stand on her own again, Hilda continued her studies and graduated from college with a degree in Office Management.
Her family could not be more proud of her as they saw Hilda, despite all the hardships she faced, stood tall wearing her graduation toga. Hilda was able to pursue her dreams through the undying support of her family and Marillac Hills. ###
