The Rehabilitation Sheltered Workshop (RSW), in collaboration with Commission on Population (POPCOM), conducted a Philippine Population Management Program (PPMP) on July 22, 2019.
The highlight of said program is to capacitate individuals, couples, and parents with knowledge regarding pre-marital sex, teenage pregnancies, and sexually transmitted diseases. The program also tackled about the importance of family planning and responsible parenting which was participated in by staff and clients of RSW. Ms. Marylee Felisilda, Administrative Officer V, shared the current situation of Filipino population while Mr. Edgardo Abraham, Population Representative, shared the different methods of Family Planning based on the context of a Filipino Family. This activity is also part of the celebration of the 41st National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) week.
RSW is a non-residential business-work oriented facility of DSWD-NCR which gives temporary employment to persons with disabilities. The differently-abled are being exposed to pieces of trainings, skills development, and workshops, to prepare them for outside employment and entrepreneurship. RSW is located at JP Burgos Street, Project 4, Quezon City. ###
