In observance of the Presidential Proclamation No. 124, series of 2017, declaring the month of January of every year as National Bible Month, the Reception and Study Center for Children selected residents joined the celebration on January 18, 2020 at the Philippine Bible Society Building, UN Avenue, Manila.
God’s Word contains a beautiful and powerful message, that it can become life-changing for anyone who gets to read it. The Philippine Bible Society (PBS) has endeavored to introduce people to the Bible’s transforming power through all means possible and the observance of the National Bible Month was one. As the bible says on Matthew 19:14, “Let the children come to me and do not hinder them for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as their”, the PBS initiated an event entitled “Ang Biblia para sa mga Bata”.
The event was free for everyone. It aims to encourage children to read, learn and appreciate the word of God. Games, storytelling and tour within the PBS museum were some of the activities participated by the RSCC residents together with other children from other schools, churches and organizations. Praise and worship is the highlights of the activity, which engaged the children more on learning and appreciating God’s word and love.
The activity ended with a tour inside the museum that features different stories on how the bible was created and some of the stories that could be found and read in it. The children enjoyed the activity as it helps them value importance of not just reading the bible as well as practicing it in real life.
The Reception and Study Center for Children or RSCC provides services for the needs of 0 – 6 years old children who are abandoned and deprived of parental care and support through provision of temporary care, custody or alternative family care services. It aims to help the child achieve survival, development and rehabilitation. ###
