One of the services that the National Vocational Rehabilitation Center (NVRC) offered is the provision of Functional Literacy Skills training such as Sign Language training to different Local Government Units and other public and private organizations that would help the employers to manage and have a better understanding on their differently-abled employees wherein one of the fortunate recipient of said services is CITIHUB.
CITIHUB is a Filipino social enterprise that provides affordable housing to low-income workers in Metro Manila. Some of their employees are Person with disabilities and most of their trainees are Deaf Person. CITIHUB is located at Cainta Rizal, Sta. Mesa, Manila, Balintawak, Quezon City and Mandaluyong City.
NVRC conducted the Basic Sign Language Training on different branch of CITIHUB including Cainta Rizal branch on November 5, 2019, Sta. Mesa, Manila Branch on November 7, 2019 and Balintawak, Quezon City branch on November 8, 2019. Basic Sign Language Training includes lecture on Understanding of the Deaf Persons such as Sign Language concepts, culture and signing information.
The training was provided by NVRC’s staff Mr. Eric Monteverde, Trainer; Ms. Jolina Capadocia, Psychometrician and Mr. Ramon Vargas, Placement Officer.
