Amidst the pandemic, the Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region through the Nayon ng Kabataan facilitated its first virtual meeting with the Department of Education on the modular distance learning strategies for the children of the Center for the upcoming school year 2020-2021 on September 24, 2020.
The activity was facilitated by Ms. Frances Therese Nalunat, Teacher-In-Charge of Jose Fabella School- Annex and attended by Ms. Ada A. Colico, NK Residential Care Facility Head; Norma G. Marcelino, NK Social Service Supervisor; Imelda Salvador, NK Productivity Supervisor; Remy Bautista, House Parent; and social workers of DSWD as well as teachers from DepEd.

Despite the presence and proliferation of Covid-19, DSWD-NCR and DepEd are working hand-in-hand in providing quality education for the children, coping with the necessity of their social and educational aspects. Malunat assured that the issues and concerns that might arise in using the modular learning in NK would be reported and attended to immediately by the DSWD management.
