DSWD Field Office NCR actively participated in the celebration of the 70th Founding Anniversary of the Department via virtual commemoration with the theme, “DSWD@70: Kaakibat ng mga mahihirap sa panahon ng Pandemya” on January 29, 2021. The Field Office conducted the live viewing of the mentioned activity at BSA Twin Towers, Mandaluyong City participated in by the finalists of the different categories of the PRAISE awards as well as the staff of the Field Office.
DSWD Undersecretary Felicisimo C. Budiongan gave his opening remarks followed by the anniversary message of the DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito D. Bautista as he welcomed the employees and awardees in this momentous event for their untiring efforts and passion to serve the country. The Secretary also recognized and appreciated the effort of the staff for the continuous delivery of Serbisyong May Malasakit amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Provided with the new normal condition, themed performances of different Field Offices were showcased highlighting the Pitong Dekada of the Department’s existence through online presentations.
The annual activity recognized the best staff and group of staff who exhibited exemplary work performances in helping the Department to fulfill its mandate. Despite the limitation to personally receive the awards, the PRAISE awards were still given to the deserving individual and group of individuals.
The PRogram on Awards and Ancentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) aims to recognize and reward employees, individually or in groups for their contirbution to innovativation, inventions, discoveries, heroic deeds, exemplary behavior, and extraordinary acts or services in the Department.
Proudly, DSWD NCR has finalists for both for the individual and group categories, as follows: Ms. Manuela M. Loza for the Best Division Chief Award, Ms. Ma. Liza F. Mahinay for the Best Technical Staff, Gulayan sa Barangay tungo sa Malusog na Katawan at Dagdag Pangkabuhayan ng Nagkakaisang Pamayanan of the Regional Program Management Office – Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program for the Best Knowledge Management Initiative Award, Crisis Intervention Section for the Best Crisis Intervention Unit Award.
Among these finalists, the DSWD NCR bagged two (2) major awards. Ms. Loza was hailed as the Best Division Chief while the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino got the Best Knowledge Management Initiative Award.
The Field Office was also given Special awards. Mr. Bienvenido Barbosa, OIC Division Chief of the Disaster Response and Management Division was awarded with Pusong Magiting award while his Division received the Pusong Maagap at Mapagkalinga award.
Meanwhile, in a taped message during the 70th-anniversary celebration of the DSWD, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte recognized the dedication and hard work of the angels in red vest in addressing poverty and hunger in the country and urged them to sustain such endeavor.
“For seven decades, the DSWD has been in the forefront of efforts in looking after the welfare of our people especially the marginalized and most in need. Your unyielding commitments to various social development programs that help alleviate poverty, hunger, and inequality, especially during this pandemic is truly noteworthy”, President Duterte said.
The President also appreciates the Department’s hard work in promoting inclusive growth in localities and leading the Filipino families and communities towards their “greater productivity and further empowerment.”
“May this occasion further inspire you to offer selfless service to the nation as we continue to fight the Covid-19 pandemic”, he added.
The program ended with the closing remarks delivered by Field Office NCR Regional Director Vicente Gregorio B. Tomas to the staff of DSWD-NCR and the awardees. He expressed his gratitude to those who made the event and activity successful.
“Ito ang totoong serbisyong may malasakit. Masaya ako dahil napabilang ako sa DSWD-NCR,” Tomas said.
This annual activity is celebrated to give appreciation to all the employees, loyalty awardees, and PRAISE awardees who untiringly share themselves to deliver Serbisyong May Malasakit.
