In line with its commitment to providing efficient and effective disaster response operations, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office NCR recently conducted a one day hands-on training on newly procured telecommunication equipment on May 3, 2023, at DSWD Field Office NCR New Building. This equipment can serve as an asset to the office, especially during times
when public communication is not available.

The training was attended by various members of the Quick Response Team from the DSWD Field Office NCR, who will serve as operators of the said equipment when needed. The resource person for the training was from the DSWD Central Office's Disaster Response Management Bureau, along with the supplier of the equipment, Thunder Defense.

The training provided the Quick Response Team members with the necessary skills and knowledge on how to operate the telecommunication equipment. They were taught how to set up and use the equipment for various disaster response operations, including communication with other response teams and the transmission of critical information.

“This training is a crucial part of our disaster response preparations. It ensures that our Quick Response Team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate the telecommunication equipment effectively, ensuring the seamless flow of communication during critical moments” said Acting Regional Director Atty. Michael Joseph J. Lorico, DSWD Field Office NCR.
