The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office National Capital Region (DSWD FO NCR) conducted a three-day orientation on Project BINHI (Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished) to 2,200 individuals in Oreta Sports Complex, Malabon City last March 15, 2024. Said project under the Cash for Work and Training program is focused on climate change empowerment and is aimed at providing education and practical skills about environmental stewardship.
Meanwhile, target beneficiaries of the project gathered for an immersive journey into sustainability. Guided by experts from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), participants dived deep into issues such as waste management and disaster risk reduction.
The DSWD FO NCR – DRMD headed by Social Welfare Officer III, Mr. Jonathan C. San Agustin, informed the participants on all the necessary steps for availing the said program. As shared, the project comprises a three-day orientation, fifteen-day work implementation, and two-day evaluation.
Project BINHI is an embodiment of DSWD’s commitment towards adaptation and mitigation of climate change. Promoting self-help and care for nature among families stimulate positive change and sustainable development within their communities.
