Upholding women’s rights and encouraging their involvement in social, political, cultural, and all other sectors of society is the main objective of celebrating the 2024 National Women’s Month with the theme Women’s Month 2024: “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas; Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan”. This celebration aims to promote gender equality between men and women to establish equal distribution of power through shared opportunities for financial independence, equal access to education, and the ability to develop their aspirations in life.
The Haven National Center for Women started its Women’s Month celebration by conducting various activities joined by the dynamic staff and residents at the HFW events hall on March 4, 2024. The month-long celebration commenced with the presentation of different activities of the HFW clients showcasing their skills and talents in poster-making contests, dance competitions, and the presentation of “Juana Dance”.
Furthermore, Ms. Jasmin Pasong, Haven for Women Supervising Officer-in-Charge shared her thoughts during the meaningful event. She emphasized the role of women in society and how their contributions helped build a powerful nation.

Sa kabila ng ating pinagdadaanan, tayong mga kababaihan ay marami pang kayang gawin para sa ating kaunlaran.”

Meanwhile, the clients had a chance to show their talents by presenting their artwork during the poster-making contest. Dr. Wilhelmina Berroya HFW medical officer, congratulates the staff and the clients for the successful launching of their month-long celebration. She mentioned the roles and responsibilities that society considers appropriate for men and women and how they influence the young generation.
A long list of exciting events awaits the HFW staff and clients for the women’s month festive, this includes the Cervical Illness Lecture on March 6, Women Exhibit and Painting on March 7, a Film showing on March 8, Wellness activities for the staff and clients on March 15 and many more.
The Haven National Center for Women is a 24-hour residential care facility that provides temporary shelter, care, and protection to women who are victims of gender-based violence ages 18-59 years old, and who need protective service as well as other services that promote healing and recovery.
