The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) NCR proudly supported the momentous first-ever Ceremonial Graduation for the 1,208 exiting beneficiaries of 4Ps NCR on October 16 (Wednesday) at Taguig University.
The ceremonial graduation was led by Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, together with Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) NCR Assistant Regional Director for Operations Bienvenido Jr. Barbosa, and 4Ps NCR Operations Office 9 Area Coordinator Aileen Salsinha.
The graduation marks a significant step forward for the 1,208 families, who have benefited from the government’s flagship poverty reduction program and are now transitioning out, having met the criteria of improved well-being or level 3 based on their latest result in Social Welfare and Development Indicator (SWDI) assessment tool.
Mayor Cayetano commended the 4Ps families for their perseverance, noting how the 4Ps initiative has empowered them towards sustainable livelihoods and greater self-sufficiency through cash grants and Family Development Sessions initiatives.
Meanwhile, Aileen Salsinha, 4Ps NCR Operations Office 9 Area Coordinator, shared her enthusiasm in the activity.
“Masayang-masaya akong makita ang magandang pagbabago ng ating mga benepisyaryo habang sila ay nagtatapos sa Programang 4Ps. Ang kanilang katatagan at tiyaga ay patunay lamang na mabisa ang 4Ps upang iangat ang bawat mahihirap na pamilyang Pilipino patungo sa mas maayos kalagayan.”
The activity also featured the audio-visual presentation of Marieta Banalo, one of the program’s beneficiaries. Joyful and teary-eyed, Banalo shared her journey during her years as part of the 4Ps program. She recalled the challenges they faced as a family and how the program, along with the continued support of the Local Government of Taguig City, helped them rise above adversities.
4Ps NCR remains committed to its mission of empowering the lives of Filipino families and building a more inclusive society. Through initiatives like the Ceremonial Graduation in Taguig City, the 4Ps continues to make a positive impact on the lives of beneficiaries across the region.
