In honor of National Women’s Month, the INA Healing Center held a short lecture on the Magna Carta of Women, emphasizing the importance of women’s rights, empowerment, and gender equality in the development of a progressive society.
With this year’s theme, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” the activity aims to educate and motivate women to assert their rights and actively engage in national development.
The Magna Carta of Women (Republic Act 9710) is a landmark legislation that guarantees gender equality, protection against discrimination, and access to essential resources for women in all sectors of society.
“Ang Magna Carta of Women ay hindi lamang nagbibigay ng proteksyon sa mga kababaihan, kundi kasama rin dito ang ating pananagutan na gamitin ito ng tama para ipaglaban ang ating karapatan,” Ms. Maribeth Juliet D. Salinas, Center Head shared.
The discussion also included important Magna Carta provisions such as anti-discrimination, access to education and healthcare, and the promotion of women’s leadership roles in government and business.
The INA Healing Center’s clients are women who are grieving or have undergone significant loss or trauma. The activity provided a safe environment for them to learn about their rights while getting emotional assistance.
