In a shared mission to enhance the care and support provided to individuals with special needs, the Elsie Gaches Village (EGV) in Muntinlupa City recently visited Amor Village in Anao, Tarlac for a benchmarking initiative. The collaborative visit aimed to exchange best practices, strengthen professional ties, and explore opportunities for mutual growth.

EGV, a long-standing residential care facility under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office – National Capital Region, serves individuals with intellectual disabilities and other neurodevelopmental disorders. It offers a wide range of therapy sessions, special education programs, and skills training.

During the visit, the EGV team observed Amor Village’s effective case management and personalized emotional care. Despite being newer and smaller, Amor Village stood out for its nurturing, child-focused environment.

Both centers exchanged insights on admissions, funding, community engagement, and daily operations. EGV showcased its experience with large-scale programs, while Amor Village highlighted its trauma-informed, hands-on approach.

The partnership between EGV and Amor Village reflects the DSWD’s commitment to the core value of Bawat Buhay Mahalaga. With continued cooperation and shared innovation, both facilities reaffirm their dedication to building brighter futures for children and individuals with special needs.
