In support of the Department of Health’s National Tuberculosis Program and the national goal of a TB-free Philippines by 2035, the Jose Fabella Center (JFC) held a free chest X-ray screening for its residents and staff.

The initiative was made possible through partnership between Mandaluyong City Health Office and the Culion Foundation, Inc., on April 15, 2025.

A total of 207 individuals underwent screening during the event. Of these, 28 were identified as presumptive Pulmonary Tuberculosis (PTB) cases and will proceed with confirmatory testing using GeneXpert and sputum analysis—modern diagnostic tools known for their speed and accuracy.

The Culion Foundation provided essential technical and logistical support, reinforcing the value of cross-sector collaboration in delivering comprehensive and responsive healthcare.

Center Head Ms. Glenda M. Derla, expressed her gratitude for the program giving free screening to the residents and to the staff.

The activity underscores the government’s commitment to bring critical health services closer to vulnerable populations.
