The spirit of adventure, leadership, and service once again came alive at Nayon ng Kabataan (NK) with the successful celebration of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) Investiture and Backyard Camping 2025, held from May 13 to 15. This event rekindled a cherished tradition of scouting within the institution, bringing hope, growth, and a renewed sense of purpose to the youth it serves.
Now in its third consecutive year, the investiture ceremony and three-day backyard camping took place at the NK Gymnasium. The event kicked off with the formal Scout Investiture on the morning of May 13, where new and continuing scouts pledged their commitment to the ideals of scouting.
The camp was filled with diverse and meaningful activities designed to foster physical fitness, leadership, creativity, and camaraderie among the young participants. These experiences not only strengthened their character but also deepened their bonds as a scouting community.
The revival of scouting at NK began in 2021, when the City of Mandaluyong Council of the BSP, headed by Mr. John Dee De Guzman, extended support to reestablish the program. Through his generous sponsorship of the scouts’ registration fees, many NK youth were given the opportunity to participate actively once again. Since then, this partnership has continued to thrive and grow.
At NK, scouting remains a vital part of youth development, helping to shape resilient, responsible, and service-oriented young individuals. With continued support from the BSP Mandaluyong Council and dedicated mentors, the future of scouting at NK shines brighter than ever.
