Fourteen (14) young residents of Marillac Hills – National Training School for Girls (MH-NTSG) participated in the formal kick-off of the IBM SkillsBuild Program held on July 19, 2025, at IBM Philippines, UP-Ayala Land Technohub, Diliman, Quezon City.

Through a partnership among IBM Philippines, Caritas Philippines, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the program offers free digital skills and technology training to the girls, most of whom are survivors of sexual abuse. The three-month program aims to equip them with valuable tech-based skills for future employment.

Delivered through a hybrid learning setup, the initiative ensures that participants can access online and face-to-face training while remaining under the protective care of the DSWD.

The launch was attended by key figures, including DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, Fr. Carmelo “Tito” Caluag of Caritas Philippines, and Atty. Princess Ascalon, IBM’s Government and Regulatory Affairs Executive, alongside other IBM officials.
