The Regional Independent Monitoring Committee (RIMC) of 4Ps-NCR recently conducted a 2-day activity (June 25-26) for a field visit and exit conference to the identified Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in Malabon and Quezon City.
The activity aimed to evaluate the quality and accessibility of education and healthcare services provided to the beneficiaries in the National Capital Region (NCR), to gain a comprehensive understanding of 4Ps service delivery and first-hand experience of program implementation in the field.
The RIMC’s field visit and exit conference are part of an ongoing effort to identify and discuss the needs for corresponding policy recommendations and operational interventions to improve the existing program support from partner agencies and stakeholders.
The visited households were selected based on a set of criteria: they must have an active status in the program, have been beneficiaries of 4Ps for at least 10 years, and have the latest Social Welfare Indicator (SWDI) result at Level 1 (survival level), and 4Ps household with the most number of family members.
This selection process ensures that the committee gathers insights from those who are most in need and have been significantly impacted by the program over an extended period. The findings from this field visit will be instrumental in shaping future policy and operational decisions to further support the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable 4Ps families in NCR.
Following the field visit, RIMC members and the 4Ps Regional Program Management Office convened to discuss findings which focused on addressing the identified needs of the visited household in Malabon and Quezon City.
The Independent Monitoring Committee (IMC) was established through Section 16 of the Republic Act No. 11310 or the 4Ps Act and Rule XIX of the IRR of the 4Ps Act. This is in line with the policy on transparency, accountability, participation, equity, and quality assurance of the DSWD.
