The empowerment and transformation of 300 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries were celebrated at the 2024 Malabon Pagpupugay sa Tagumpay 4Ps Ceremonial Graduation, which took place on June 27, 2024, at the Malabon Sports Complex in Malabon City.
Led by Malabon Local Chief Executive Hon. Jeannie Sandoval, DSWD NCR Assistant Regional Director for Operations Bienvenido Jr. Barbosa, and 4Ps NCR Operations Office 6 staff featured program graduates whose levels of well-being significantly improved from Level 1 – Survival to Level 3 Self-sufficient.
During the ceremony, the graduates from Malabon City were awarded certificates of entitlement, known as the “Sertipiko ng Pagkilala,” to recognize their dedication and efforts in improving their lives from poor, marginalized, and vulnerable to self-sufficient individuals.
An emotional moment of the event was seen when Ms. Sangeles – one of the program graduates, shared her heartfelt testimony, emphasizing the profound impact of the 4Ps on their journey towards self-sufficiency. Ms. Sangeles expressed, “Provision of cash grants is just a bonus, but what we are more thankful for, is the program itself – the one that binds people of diverse cultural backgrounds, and different customs, but with the common goal of living a higher quality of life.”
The ceremony also included the symbolic turnover of case folders of the graduating households to the Local Advisory Council, symbolizing the commitment of the local government of Malabon to continue supporting the beneficiaries of 4Ps in their community.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Marvin Bautista, Social Welfare Office IV and the Convergence Focal of the 4Ps NCR Regional Program Management Office expressed gratitude to all attendees and commended the Malabon City and 4Ps NCR staff from Malabon for the success of the event.
The event highlighted the resilience and determination of the 4Ps households in overcoming challenges to achieve Self-Sufficiency status, underscoring the success of the program in enhancing the well-being of program beneficiaries.
