The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) NCR organized a knowledge-sharing session aimed at increasing the understanding of staff on Republic Act No. 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991 on July 8 in Manila City.

The activity intended to empower 4Ps NCR area supervisors with in-depth knowledge of the structure and functions of Local Government Units (LGUs), highlighting their crucial role as program partners in uplifting the well-being of 4Ps household beneficiaries.

During the activity, Mr. Dennis R. De Paz, DILG NCR representative, led insightful discussions on the provisions of RA 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991. He stressed that this will foster the synergy between 4Ps NCR Operation-based teams, grasping the responsibilities and functions of various LGU offices and enhance coordination and collaboration to better serve beneficiaries in Metro Manila.

By familiarizing themselves with the details of the Local Government Code, 4Ps area supervisors can strategically pinpoint areas where effective interventions are needed to address requirements during and aftercare services. Moreover, the roles of key LGU departments will also enable staff to engage with the appropriate units within the LGUs and advocate for essential services on the Local Advisory Council.

The active participation and engagement of 4Ps staff in the session underscored their commitment to continuously improve the program’s impact on the lives of Filipino families. Further, it strengthens the foundation for stronger partnerships with LGUs to achieve the shared goal of uplifting communities and promoting sustainable development.
