The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) National Capital Region successfully conducted a 3-day Training of Trainers for the 4Ps Youth Development Session (YDS) Modules in Marikina City from July 17 to 19, which aimed to equip local youth leaders, civil society organizations, and Youth Development Councils with the necessary skills in facilitating the implementation of Youth Development Sessions in Marikina City.

Mr. Kenneth Jae Lozendo, Marikina Youth Development Office Head opened the activity by emphasizing the importance of building measures to empower the youth through targeted programs and interventions.


The 4Ps Youth Development Session modules have shown great potential from the pilot results in March 2024, prompting the need for a more comprehensive delivery in Metro Manila. Ms. Sheyne Laristan, PDO II-YDS, reiterated the need to address the unique issues and needs faced by 4Ps adolescents effectively.

During the ToT, participants have engaged in various activities aimed at enhancing their understanding of the 4Ps YDS module, designing supplemental topics to cater to specific issues, and defining strategies to improve the capacities of facilitators in utilizing the module. ⁤⁤

Additionally, the session encouraged participants to demonstrate the practical application of the YDS Module for the benefit of the 4Ps youth beneficiaries. ⁤Ms. Hazel Militante, Marikina City CSWDO Head, commended the participants for their dedication to youth empowerment.
⁤The completion of the 3-day training signals a new chapter in the implementation of youth development programs in Marikina City, showcasing the commitment of various stakeholders to create a brighter future for the Filipino youth. ⁤
It is expected that the Training of Trainers will be implemented across all cities in Metro Manila which the 4Ps NCR remains committed to the ideal in fostering the holistic development of Filipino youth for nation building.
