The DSWD Field Office – National Capital Region (FO-NCR) and the Ayala Foundation are exploring a partnership aimed at benefiting the clients and residents of Elsie Gaches Village (EGV). The meeting held at EGV Conference room together with DSWD-Central Office, and Hermanas Dela Caridad De Sta. Ana. During the meeting, on April 2, 2025, EGV Center Head and Social Welfare Officer V Farrah Cabrera thanked the Ayala Foundation for their interest in working with the center to help residents gain employment and independence.
Following this, EGV Social Welfare Officer III Maria Cielo Agotilla highlighted the potential talents and skills of the residents, including arts and crafts, gardening, housekeeping, dishwashing, massage therapy, and car washing. Mr. Randy Calcena from the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) also provided valuable input, suggesting that residents could benefit from apprenticeship programs and workplace sensitivity training. His suggestions emphasized the need for businesses to create inclusive environments where people with disabilities can thrive.
Following the Foundation’s commitment, President Antonio ‘Tony’ Lambino emphasized the importance of this partnership. He noted that it would not just be about filling positions, but about offering jobs that give purpose and meaning to the lives of the residents. By the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to assess the residents’ skills, explore potential job opportunities, and develop a supportive system for both the residents and employers.
This meeting marks the beginning of a promising collaboration between EGV and the Ayala Foundation. The partnership aims to open new doors for the residents, providing them with opportunities that will help them lead more independent, fulfilling lives through meaningful employment.
