After 38 days of dedication and hard work, 43 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) from the Bahay Silungan Community Center (BSCC) and the Rehabilitation Sheltered Workshop (RSW) successfully completed their training in Hilot Wellness Massage and received their National Certificate Level II on May 22, 2025.

The graduation ceremony was a moment of pride and inspiration, graced by DSWD Field Office–NCR Assistant Regional Director for Operations Dir. Bienvenido Jr. Barbosa, RSW Center Head Ms. Chorrie Lou-an Digneneng, and BSCC Head Ms. Myrna Comota, who personally handed over the certificates to the new graduates.

Over the course of 38 days, the participants not only refined their skills in traditional Hilot massage, but also gained a deeper understanding of holistic wellness, proper client care, and the values of professionalism and empathy in service. More than just learning techniques, the training became a transformative journey—boosting their confidence, restoring their sense of purpose, and opening doors to new opportunities. Many have already begun offering home massage services, turning their newly acquired skills into a meaningful livelihood and a step toward greater independence.

The training was delivered by Techvoc Skills Inc., under the supervision of TESDA, and ran from Mondays to Fridays. The course covered various massage modalities, proper client care, and even basic health assessment skills such as taking vital signs.

TESDA Representative Ms. Alysa Taroy warmly congratulated the graduates, acknowledging their determination and perseverance. Massage trainer Ms. Marina Gamuyao shared heartfelt words of encouragement, saying, “In life, we should never allow discrimination—as long as we accept one another, we can overcome any challenge.”

To further support their journey, each graduate also received a training allowance of ₱2,400 upon completion.

This milestone is more than a certificate—it is a testament to the resilience, strength, and limitless potential of every PWD who chooses to rise and thrive.
