Summer 2025 provided more than just sunlight to the young people of Marillac Hills; it additionally brought healing, laughter, and fresh camaraderie.
Held in the grounds inside the perimeter of National Training School for Girls, the Marillac Hills Summer Camp offered a two-day, one-night experience filled with outdoor fun and life lessons. Organized by the Social Service Unit of the center, the camp aimed to build social skills, teamwork, and resilience among its participants.
From flag-making, cooking their own meals to competing in exciting games like water relay, battle of the brains and lubid relay, campers embraced the spirit of camaraderie and challenge. The evening sessions, led by the partner, Sold Out for Jesus Ministries, opened doors for personal reflection and emotional healing, as campers shared their personal stories and experiences.
A lively Zumba session kicked off the second day, followed by meaningful workshops and a chance for campers to speak their truths. The highlight? A refreshing splash in a giant inflatable pool – marking the perfect end to a memorable journey.
Beyond fun and competitive victories, the night was also about acknowledging the unseen efforts – the teamwork, leadership, and resilience that made the experience unforgettable.
One camper said, “First time ko mag-open… yung malungkot na side ko na nasa loob ay nailabas ko.”
The event wrapped up with awards, heartfelt moments, and a renewed sense of confidence among the girls. More than a camp, it was a step forward in healing, hope, and self-discovery.
