Summer heat and fun are on at DSWD-National Capital Region as it opens this year’s “Summer Splash” event.

The Summer Splash 2013 is a three-day event from April 17-19 and part of DSWD-NCR’s wellness program.  It aims to develop stronger bond among the NCR family and to maintain vitality in the performance of their respective functions.

The opening ceremony started with a parade of teams which was participated in by the Field Office staff and the Search for Ms. Summer Splash 2013.  The staff were divided into six teams who competed in various ‘basaan’ (wet) games and challenges.

In the Search for Ms. Summer Splash 2013, Ms. Jackie Lou Dela Cruz of Travel Clearance Section and Mr. Mark Vincent Mingua of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program are the winners.

Mr. Jose Maninang and Ms. Catherine Co of Modified Conditional Cash Transfer for Homeless Street Families (MCCT-HSF) were second runner-up and Mr. Marvin Bermudez and Ms. Mary Grace Cabral, also from MCCT-HSF were first runner up.

DSWD-NCR Regional Director Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan said that this activity is important in fostering camaraderie and in reinvigorating the enthusiasm of NCR employees and staff after a day’s work.

She reminded the staff, however, that while there are on-going activities, they should prioritize the official tasks and provision of services to the clients that come to the office.
