As part of the National Disaster Resilience Month Celebration, the Haven for Women conducted their Earth Quake Drill 2019 with the theme “Kahandaan sa Sakuna’t Peligro para sa Tunay na Pagbabago,” held at Haven for Women office grounds on July 29, 2019.
The activity was led by the center nurse, Ms. Herminia Casilihan, and participated in by 130 residents and staff of the Center. The residents were instructed to do the “duck”, “cover”, and “hold” to prevent accidents during the evacuation. Ms. Brigette Angaye, Social Welfare Officer II, evaluated the activity and gave further instructions on how to be alert, how to avoid panicking, how to check on your colleagues, and how to proceed to a safer place.
A lecture on Disaster Preparedness was also conducted last July 25, 2019 wherein representative from the Muntinlupa City Disaster Management Office served as a resource person. The activity aims to strengthen the knowledge of the residents and staff during calamities which might occur anytime.
Haven for Women is a temporary shelter and custody to the abused, battered, exploited, and trafficked women, ages 18-59 years old. ###
