As part of the advocacy of DSWD – NCR INA Healing Center, an orientation on the Center’s programs and services was conducted at Tanghalan Pasigueño, Pasig City Hall on September 24, 2019. The orientation was attended by Pasigueños who are undergoing series of dialyses, accompanied by their relatives, under the medical assistance of Pasig CSWDO.
Prof. Rodrigo DP. Tomas, PhDTE, RGC, LPT, Head of Guidance and Counselling Center of Rizal Technological University, served as resource person for the topic “Understanding Grief and Loss”, which focused on giving an overview on the nature and process of grieving to be able to fully understand the meaning of loss.
Ms. Diane M. Gianan, Psychologist I of Ina Healing Center, shared to the participants the state of Mental Health in the Philippines to raise awareness on the different mental health issues and problems faced by our country.
Moreover, Ms. Maria Concepcion L. Penetrante, Social Welfare Officer II of the Center, shared the history of INA Healing Center while Ms. Myrna C. Comota, Social Welfare Officer III and Officer-In-Charge of INA Healing Center, presented the Center’s mission, vision, and programs and services. Ms. Comota emphasized in her presentation that the Center was established to provide a nurturing environment, where mothers and other members of the family may be provided psychosocial support and other interventions that could help them heal from the loss of a loved one.
After the orientation activity, Ina Healing Center’s staff led by Ms. Comota conducted a courtesy call with Pasig City Mayor, Honorable Victor Ma. Regis N. Sotto.
Inang Nangungulila sa Anak Healing Center, also known as INA Healing Center, is a non-residential facility where grieving mothers who lost a child are given psychosocial support to help others who are in similar situation. The center is located at the DSWD-Central Office, Batasan Pambansa Complex, Constitution Hills, Quezon City. ###
