The Department of Social Welfare and Development National Capital Region holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Construction Project of 900 square meters Multi- Storey Building today at DSWD Field Office NCR, Manila City.
The activity is graced by an opening remarks from DSWD NCR Regional Director Vicente Gregorio B. Tomas as he welcomed the attendees and Honorable guests to include; DSWD Undersecretary Danilo G. Pamonag, Mandaluyong City Congressman, Honorable Neptali M. Gonzales II, Manila City 3rd District Congressman, Honorable John Marvin” Yul Servo” Nieto, Chief- PDS- DPWH North Manila District Engineering Office, Ms. Juliet M. Fajardo and the former Mandaluyong City Congresswoman Alexandria Gonzales.
“Our new building will not only serve as a very nice facility but it will inspire us to serve from our hearts,” RD Tomas said.
Meanwhile, Mandaluyong City Congressman Neptali M. Gonzales II mentioned in his speech that this tangible project like DSWD building should be prioritized alongside with the other projects of socio-economic activities of the Department to provide comfortable work place which maximize productivity especially that the major clienteles are the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged.
Further, Honorable John Marvin” Yul Servo” Nieto, Manila City 3rd District Congressman who is also celebrating his 44th birthday articulated that social services must be prioritized since the COVID-19 pandemic affected many lives and this humble project for the DSWD who is always available to respond, can provide inspiration to work harder.
“Nakakatuwa na simula 1950 ngayon, madadagdagan na ang building ng DSWD NCR para sa mga masisipag na staff na tumutulong sa ating mga mamamayan dito sa NCR,” Nieto added.
The activity was also participated in by the Management Committee of the DSWD NCR including; OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Administration, Ms. Manuela M. Loza, OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Operations, Ms. Edna J. Sacedor, Protective Services Division Chief, Ms. Glenda Derla, Disaster Response Management Division Chief, Mr. Bienvenido Barbosa, Regional Center Coordinator, Ms. Maridol Licerio and the DSWD NCR staff.
The activity was concluded by the closing remarks of DSWD Undersecretary Danilo G. Pamonag who emphasized that the building is a milestone which will witness the hard work, passion and dedication of the staff who have been true to their commitment in providing Serbisyong May Malasakit.
The construction of multi-storey building of DSWD-NCR aims to provide a safe and effective working environment for the staff in the region to continuously deliver Serbisyong May Malasakit to the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged in the National Capital Region.
