The Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program conducted a virtual orientation with partner stakeholders on COVID-19 Response and Recovery Programs for its over 700 Program staff last April 29, 2021.
The activity was made possible through the collaboration of the Regional Program Management Office with the Department of Health-NCR, different Local Government Units and their City Health Offices, and several other private institutions.
The activity was dubbed as the third Knowledge Sharing Session (KSS). Prior to this, two (2) other KSS were conducted and attended by the Pantawid Pamilya Program Staff; RA 11310 held last February 22, 2021 and Pantawid Pamilya Child Protection Policy in the Workplace which was held last March 19, 2021. Both were held virtually and spearheaded by the Regional Program Management Office (RPMO).
Apart from tackling the present COVID-19 Response and Recovery Programs of the different partner stakeholders of the DSWD NCR, importance of the different COVID-19 vaccines, and strategies in implementing the COVID-19 action plan were discussed during the 3rd KSS.
Another highlight of the activity was the two Pantawid Pamilya Staff who were COVID-19 survivors. They shared their experiences as they faced the deadly virus. Ma. Cecilia Romano and Bernardo Macadine were both exposed to the virus last 2020.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Regional Director for Operations (ARDO) Edna J. Sacedor emphasized and reminded the staff to follow safety measurements and protocols to prevent the further spread of the COVID-19 virus. She added that following those safety practices may not only lead to a virus-free home and workplace but a stress-free environment as well.
At the end of the activity, the virtual orientation was able to impart to every staff the importance of personal wellness in helping to suppress the spread of the COVID-19 virus, resulting to a healthier and optimistic family well-being.
