LOOK: 4Ps NCR through Community Organizing conducted training on Rabbitry for the Pantawid Pamilya Farmers of Gulayan sa Barangay held at the Barangay of Talon Kuarto and Barangay Sucat, Las Piñas City last June 17 and June 28, 2022 respectively.
The two-day activity was participated by the two (2) communal gardens in the City of Las Piñas including “Pantawid Garden Group” and “Sucat Paradise Garden Group”.
The first batch was attended by the 21 Pantawid Garden Group farmers of Barangay Talon Kuatro and the second group was participated by the 19 farmers from Sucat Paradise Garden of Barangay Sucat.
The activity aims to promote integrated urban agriculture and provide technical assistance through pieces of training, seminars, and hands-on workshop on Rabbitry (Rabbit-raising) to the Pantawid Pamilya Farmers of Gulayan Sa Barangay in said locality.
Founding Director of Project Grace of Shrine of Our Lady of Grace Parish in Caloocan City Fr. Eduardo “Pon” Vasquez, serves as a Resource Person during the conduct of the activity. He emphasized the benefits of harmonizing livestock cultivation and the impact of gardening were significant and beneficial to the social welfare of the community.
Project Grace also provided 21 rabbits and 40 cages to the Communal groups participating in the abovementioned activity. This will serve as one of the sources of organic fertilizer for their garden and an alternative source of healthy meat for consumption.
Further, Fr. Pon stated that these 21 rabbits should multiply in number since their offspring will be given to the future participants in the activities.
The activity was capped by the participants signifying their commitment to continue and support the advocacy of the Department and Project Grace. Moreover, the participants also shared their experiences and knowledge came from the farmer group they belong.
