The Department of Social Welfare and Development in the National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) marks today (October 30, 2012) its 34th Foundation Day with the theme “Malikhaing Paggawa, Isulong Tungo sa Tuloy-Tuloy na Pag-Unlad.”

Ms. Dominica Godinez, chairperson of this year’s foundation day celebration said that the theme is anchored on strengthening the character of being creative and innovative among DSWD-NCR staff to contribute to the thrust of the DSWD to serve the underprivileged with passion and integrity.

To commemorate this event, a motorcade was held on Monday to showcase the DSWD programs and services which also marked the opening of the two-day celebration.

Part of the event was the conduct of wellness activities that treated the DSWD-NCR staff with a one day pampering experience.  Trained clients from DSWD centers and institutions offered body massage, haircut, foot, hand and hair spa, manicure and pedicure at minimal cost.

The awarding of DSWD-NCR partners and best performing staff from the Field Office and centers and institutions highlighted the celebration. Assistant Secretary and DSWD-NCR Officer in-Charge Vilma Cabrera led the awarding of plaque and certificates to partners and staff.

Fun games, dance and singing competitions among the staff also made the event more festive and enjoyable. ###
